Otto Koch was once one of Germany's “young rebels” and, together with Eckart Witzigmann, revolutionized the local gourmet scene. That was forty years ago. As a pioneer of the finest cuisine, he was active for a long time and repeatedly set new culinary standards. In the lofty heights of Restaurant 181 in the Munich TV tower, he let his creativity run free from 2009 to 2014, even if the former young savage is now calmer and more relaxed and passes on his expertise as a gastronomy consultant worldwide.
For WHITE PLATE Otto Koch opens his private realm and gives an insight into his way of looking at and perceiving the world. For him, art, in the spirit of Paul Klee, does not reproduce what is visible, but makes things visible. And so WHITE PLATE reveals Otto Koch’s love of food, of the “four elements” and his understanding of the essence of all that exists.
